You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. As soon as I bought the HP 350 and replaced the Tesco brand, my printer all in one was a happy bunny again. The black is 74XL with an expiry 4 and the color is a 75XL expiry 1. Even going on Control Panel/Printers I cant add the printer. You have to stop using the non-HP inks and go back to spending a fortune on the genuine HP ink. Its a shame that HP its self can't tell you that PRINTER ERRO REFER TO PRINTER DOCUMNATION actually means "hey you cheap skate, we really would rather you spend £15 more on the same quality of ink but we are fixing it so that you when you do try to use 'generic' ink, your printer will cease to function but we won't put this error in the manal or put it online for you to find." Put that cartridge back on and see if the message clears. missing ink cartridge, incorrect cartridge or printhead fitted. Before attempting to reset Ink system failure, Scanner system failure or any other HP error, check for obvious problems that could be causing it (eg. Wait at least 30 seconds, then connect the power cord back into the printer. System failure errors usually pop up when powering HP printer on, but can can do so any other time - often for no apparent reason. Now with the power still on, remove the power from the back of the printer. I too, have gotten this error and having searched and searched, my ONLY conclusion was that my printer finally said nope, I am done with this Tesco ink and threw its dummy out of the pram. However, to make sure try this: Remove the expired cartridge.

If the HP was out of stock, I knew that the HP 350 and 351 version would work. I have for the past 5 years (and this printer all in one is OVER 10 years old), I have been using HP ink AND Tesco branded ink. Hate that, don't you? So, I had this problem pop up this weekend. I read this post and noticed that whilst people tried to help and gave guesses, no one actually gave the solution.
